Its been a long time since I had a blast with a movie like I did with Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons. I have seen a nice amount of Stephen Chow’s films before. But I had completely forgotten between dramas and crime movies, how great, fun and emotional they could be. Even tho they are an entertaining blast, they can make you relate to the characters like no other director. And in my opinion nobody should miss a single one of his movies.
The story behind Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons is a mixture between many genres. It has comedy, action, drama, religion and martial arts. Everything is executed magically to fit into place. And this happens as we get to know the story and the characters behind this journey. Although, is a lot more than that.
