If you’re a fan of horror and bloody scenes, Ghastly (2011) is a film you won’t want to miss. While it may not completely redefine the genre, it offers a captivating experience with its chilling plot involving an inexplicable crime, strange rituals, and a family that moves into a house where a horrific massacre occurred not long ago.

The investigation into the reasons behind the tragic events is a crucial part of the story. As the new tenants—brother and sister-in-law of one of the victims—navigate the fear and dark family secrets, they find themselves engulfed in uncertainty.

Exceptional Performance by Lee Hyung Suk

One of the standout features of Ghastly is the incredible performance by Lee Hyung Suk, who plays the central character, Bin. Depicted as a boy tormented by his peers and misunderstood by his adoptive family, he immerses us in the bipolarity of his character, keeping us on the edge of our seats.

The rest of the cast also delivers strong performances. Hyo Min (from T-ARA) impresses in her role as the younger sister, and it’s striking how much she resembles Han Eun Jung, making them seem like real sisters. However, if you were hoping for a prominent role from No Min Woo, you might be disappointed; his character plays a more secondary role. In my opinion, it’s the young actor who carries the film, making it well worth your time.
