A film with such a stellar cast should be an easy choice, guaranteeing a solid experience. And it delivers. The Client has all the elements of an outstanding thriller, centering around the mysterious disappearance of a woman whose body is never found. The main suspect? Her husband. The film opens with him returning home on their anniversary, only to find their bedroom completely covered in blood.

From that moment, an intense legal battle begins. His defense attorney will do everything possible to prove his innocence, despite how difficult and damning the evidence seems. His motivations are not only rooted in justice—he also wants to elevate his reputation and that of his law firm. He and his team find themselves in a race against time, navigating a complicated investigation while the prosecution is desperate to convict someone, even without a body.

A Thriller That Never Lets Up

Unlike other courtroom dramas, The Client never slows down. The film is packed with twists and turns, keeping viewers constantly guessing. Although most of the action takes place within the legal framework, the tension never lets up, making it a gripping watch for fans of legal thrillers.

An Impressive Cast

One of the film’s biggest strengths is its exceptional cast, featuring some of South Korea’s most respected actors:

  • Jang Hyuk (Thank You, IRIS 2, The Flu) plays Han Chul Min, the mysterious and reserved husband whose strange physical characteristics make him even more suspicious in the eyes of the court.
  • Ha Jung Woo (The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, The Terror Live) shines as Kang Sung Hee, the lawyer willing to fight to the last moment to prove his client’s innocence.
  • Park Hee Soon (The Suspect, All About My Romance, Hansel & Gretel) delivers a powerful performance as the relentless prosecutor, who will stop at nothing to convict Chul Min.

The supporting cast includes other big names in Korean cinema:

  • Kim Sung Ryung (The Heirs, King’s Wrath, Codename: Jackal) plays Sung Hee’s law firm partner and chief investigator. It’s a role unlike her usual performances, but she excels as a sharp, action-oriented lawyer.
  • Sung Dong Il (The Grand Heist, The Suicide Forecast, Children…).
  • Jung Won Joong (Shark, Sunny, Unbowed).
